My divorce from Ryan was easier legally than criminal case and harder emotionally.
We had no house.
Our apartment lease ended.
Joint savings had been mostly depleted.
Retirement accounts.
A car.
Debts.
Channel revenue/equipment.
Forensic accountant traced marital funds.
I did not receive millions.
I recovered:
My share of remaining retirement and savings.
Credit for certain dissipated marital funds.
A civil settlement judgment for damages, largely uncollectible immediately but enforceable against future assets within law.
Frozen channel funds contributed toward restitution and legal obligations.
Ryan’s creator equipment forfeited or disposed as evidence/property depending item.
Custody:
I received sole legal and physical custody of Grace due incarceration and findings.
Ryan had no contact while protective orders applied except through court-approved written channel if ever authorized.
I chose not to permit direct letters to Grace while she was young.
Future adult Grace would decide.
I changed my surname back to Lawson.
Grace became Grace Lawson after court approved name change based on custody and safety circumstances.
Not to erase biology.
To give us shared household name.
Ryan contested.
Court approved.
That was one of few times I felt victory.
