Chapter 8 - The Night He Came for My Laptop

Protective order meant Mauricio could not come near me.

He did not.

He sent Teresa.

Not directly.

She came to condo building claiming she needed “family documents” stored in Mauricio’s office.

Building manager called me because exclusive possession order allowed supervised retrieval only.

I said:

“No unscheduled entry.”

Teresa became angry.

Security video recorded.

“I need my son’s property.”

Manager:

“Schedule through attorney.”

Then:

“There’s a black laptop inside.”

My company laptop.

I had already surrendered it to Westbridge forensic team.

Teresa did not know.

She insisted.

“I left tax files on it.”

Impossible.

Why did she want it?

Later, investigators concluded she and Mauricio feared it contained evidence of login access.

It did not by then.

But attempted retrieval became consciousness of concern, not necessarily obstruction because she never entered.

Sarah documented.
