Chapter 24 - Julian’s Mother Dies
Margaret died when I was forty six.
Ordinary pancreatic cancer.
I learned from obituary forwarded by Aunt Catherine? Why would she? Maybe news because mutual social circle. She said nothing. Better Sarah's retired partner notified because estate counsel reached to confirm no outstanding claims. That's realistic.
Margaret’s estate attorney contacted:
“Confirm settlement/restitution satisfied and no outstanding judgment to Ava Bennett.”
Everything satisfied.
I signed acknowledgment through counsel.
No claim.
Margaret’s estate passed to Julian and daughter? Did she have daughter? We haven't introduced. Better Julian only child. Estate to Julian and charities.

Then estate attorney said there was sealed personal envelope addressed to me, delivery optional.
I declined.
Why?
I already had apology.
I did not need death to force intimacy.
