Not secret prediction.
Annual estate notes.
Charles found one attached to original trust file.
To Daniel and Vanessa.
Written when Lily was born.
My children,
Money inside families becomes dangerous when people confuse stewardship with entitlement.
I read twice.
Arthur knew.
He continued.
Lily does not owe either of you a career, vote, relationship, or gratitude because assets exist in her name.
Daniel cried.
Vanessa probably would later hear in court.

If administering these funds ever damages your relationship with her, hire professionals and step away.

Daniel whispered:
“We thought Dad was being dramatic.”
I laughed without humor.
Arthur:
Vanessa, your competence is a gift. Do not let everyone else’s dependence on you become a reason to believe you are entitled to decide for them.

“Wow.”
Daniel looked down.
Arthur had seen her.
Then to Daniel:
Daniel, your instinct is to avoid conflict until someone else makes decision for you. That is not peace. It is delegation without honesty.
I stared at my husband.
He laughed through tears.
“Dad was annoying.”
Accurate.
Then:
Claire may eventually read this. If so, I hope she understands she is not required to become Parker-family referee.
I closed my eyes.
Too late, Arthur.

The trust exists to give Lily options, not to create obligations around her.

Everything Vanessa violated.
