Chapter 9 - Damian’s Version

Damian gave his story through attorney.

Chloe was unstable.

She had eating problems.

She voluntarily worked at The Hearth because her own studio failed.

She preferred leftover food because she was “obsessive about waste.”

The restraint bruises came from kitchen work.

He never denied grabbing her wrist.

He called it:

“Stopping her from leaving during a workplace dispute.”

Susan read that line twice.

Then said:

“He thinks wording changes facts.”

Damian also claimed:

Chloe deferred salary willingly.

Invested inheritance voluntarily.

Signed guarantee.

Approved insurance.

And stole confidential restaurant records before leaving.

That last accusation became dangerous.

He filed a civil complaint seeking return of proprietary documents and damages.

Susan responded:

“Preserving evidence of suspected fraud and abuse is not automatically theft, but we will return originals through lawful process while retaining copies as permitted.”

We did exactly that.

No hiding.

No leaking to media.

No social posts.
