Chapter 7 - School Records
Lizzy’s school records destroyed another story.
Gloria told everyone she attended daily.
She did not.
During first two months of guardianship:
Regular.
Then absences increased.
By sixth month:
Thirty one missed days.
By eighth:
Forty seven.
Gloria submitted notes.
Stomach virus.
Migraines.
Food allergies.
Family travel.
Grief episodes.
One note claimed pediatrician recommended temporary home rest.
Pediatrician never wrote it.
Another claimed Lizzy was transferring to home education.
No legal homeschool filing existed.
School attendance officer called twice.
Gloria told him family was moving districts.
They were not.
A mandatory welfare concern had been initiated but stalled because Gloria provided a medical form with what appeared to be physician signature.
Hospital confirmed signature false.
Now financial abuse intersected educational neglect.
Why keep Lizzy home?
Partly because her weight and bruises were becoming visible.
But later evidence showed another motive.
Caregiver support payments.
Gloria had applied for a supplemental private trust distribution claiming she was providing full time specialized home education and nutrition supervision.
The less Lizzy attended school, the easier it was to justify more money.
