Saint Agnes Cemetery closed before sunset under federal order.
The grounds contained Moretti family graves, Vale family crypts, and the memorials of dozens of people the registry listed as dead.
Some graves might contain remains.
Others might contain evidence.
Opening every one without process would violate families and destroy proof.
Investigators began with Gabriel’s grave because the tunnel led directly beneath it.
The coffin held no body.

An unborn child had been given the final decision.
Vittorio called that balance.

Vincent picked it up.

“I surrender it.”
Marco stared.

She opened it.

Vincent’s name appeared too.

The chamber’s final screen displayed a countdown.
Vincent dies when Emma opens the final door.
The message referred to legal identity, not physical death.
Opening the chamber automatically activated Vincent’s prepared death certificate.
The city registry now marked him deceased.
His accounts froze.
His companies transferred toward the Continuity Council.
Arthur had designed the system so surrendering the seal erased Vincent.
Outside the cemetery, Moretti captains received notice that their boss was dead.
Some remained loyal.

Marco asked:

“That was your father.”

Arthur had tied Vincent’s survival to a claim over Elena.
She looked at the screen.
“I will not become your wife on paper to prove you live.”
“You should not.”

A new message arrived from the registry.
Bring Emma to the chamber.
Her blood can inherit Vincent’s identity.
Arthur wanted the child to become Vincent’s legal successor.
