Chapter 7 - Julian Said Victoria Planned Everything
Julian asked for attorney within an hour of arrest.
Good.
That was his right.
After counsel arrived, he gave no substantive statement for two days.
Then his lawyer requested proffer discussion.
Not immunity.
A conversation about cooperation.
The first thing Julian did was blame Victoria.
“She came up with the funeral.”
Victoria’s attorney said the opposite.
Detective Collins did not care who invented first draft.
Evidence mattered.
Julian’s version:
He discovered the trust audit.
Panicked.
Told Victoria.
She proposed temporarily faking Chloe’s death, moving her to Wisconsin, resolving financial accounts, then “bringing her back” later under a story that the death announcement was mistaken? That made no sense.
Exactly.
Criminal plans built from desperation rarely survive logic.
Julian claimed:
“I never intended to kill Chloe.”
Then why the casket?
“To convince family.”
Why the sedative?
“So she wouldn’t panic.”
Why restraints?
“She kept trying to get out.”
Why fake death document?
“Victoria handled.”
Why adult casket?
Silence.
His attorney stopped interview.
That silence said more.
Julian later resumed.
The adult casket, he claimed, was Victoria’s idea to scare him.
“She said if Mom interfered, she would be next.”
“Did you remove it?”
“No.”
“Did you tell Eleanor?”
“No.”
“Did you participate in making forged POA?”
“I signed as witness.”
There.
He was in it.
Maybe Victoria conceived parts.
Julian enabled, financed, executed.
He placed his daughter in the coffin himself.
