Margaret’s payments.

At year ten, the final principal balance tied to the $875,000 was satisfied through combined sources.
Legal interest and some costs remained partially unrecovered but civil judgment settled for a final negotiated amount.
I agreed.
Not because I needed to forgive.
Because litigation had lasted long enough.

No further claims between me and Bennett Grove receiver.
Ethan continued criminal restitution obligations as ordered until formally satisfied.
Margaret completed hers.
Brokerage closed remediation.
Grant Harbor controls remained.
No hidden accounts.
No last-minute missing million.
Laura handed me final file.
“Keep seven years.”
“I’m going to frame it.”
“Please don’t.”
I laughed.
Then she said:
“You know your case is over.”
I looked.
“What do you mean?”
“The criminal case final. Appeals final. Restitution resolved. Divorce final. Parenting order stable. No active civil litigation.”
I waited for relief.
It came quietly.
No fireworks.
I took Grace to dinner.
Did not tell her “case closed.”
She was twelve.
She cared about math test.
Good.
At dinner she asked:
“Can Dad come to my school play?”
I froze.
“Do you want him?”
“Yes.”
“Then yes, if school and order allow.”
He came.
