Kevin’s daughter, Sophie, wrote me when she was sixteen.
I did not know whether letter should reach me.
Her mother sent through Megan.
Sophie wrote:
I know my dad hurt you. I know he helped hurt your car. I don’t expect you to answer. I just want you to know I don’t think what he did was okay.
I cried.
Not because of Kevin.
Because children inherit consequences they did not choose.
I answered one sentence through lawyer:
You are not responsible for your father’s choices. I wish you a peaceful life.
Nothing more.
No relationship.
