Charles Vane denied visiting the Carter house.
He said the badge could be copied.
He said the video quality was poor.
He said Meridian Crown negotiated only with Diane and knew nothing about family conflict.
The cloud file contained location data.
Mara’s phone recorded the video at one fourteen in the morning inside the backyard.
A second device connected to the home network at the same time.

The buyer had not merely known.
He had watched.
Detective Hayes obtained messages between Vane and Diane.
Diane wrote:
She still refuses. Ethan is increasing pressure.
Vane replied:
Keep her conscious. We need a defensible signature or a clean incapacity order.
Later, Diane sent:
The child is moving. No immediate risk.
Vane answered:
Do not discuss pregnancy details on this channel.
He understood enough to avoid writing more.
The messages did not describe every act.
They showed that legal control, not family discipline, remained the goal.
Meridian Crown placed Vane on administrative leave and claimed he acted outside company authority.
Internal records told another story.
A project team had created a folder called Cedar Resolution.
It contained the forged transfer, the incapacity petition, the Clear Path admission schedule, and a communication plan.
If reporters asked why a pregnant landowner transferred property suddenly, the company would say:
Rachel Carter made a voluntary decision after receiving treatment for pregnancy related stress.
The statement had been written before I entered the pit.
A public relations photograph showed Ethan and me smiling at a charity dinner.
It would accompany the announcement.
The woman in the picture believed she was attending a fundraiser.
The company intended to use her face after silencing her.
Rebecca filed notice with the county environmental board.
The Cedar Hollow approval process stopped.
Meridian Crown could continue other legitimate projects under independent review.
Workers did not need to lose jobs because one acquisition involved coercion.
The company’s favorite threat became useless.
They could not claim that protecting me would destroy an entire business.
They would have to explain why their executive inspected a buried woman.
My physical condition improved slowly.
Sensation returned to my right foot.

Doctors treated skin infection, dehydration, and muscle damage.
The baby’s heart rate stabilized but required constant monitoring.

They restored choices one fact at a time.
Ethan requested contact through his attorney.
He said he needed to apologize.
He said Diane designed the punishment.
He said he had believed the pit was shallow enough to be safe.
He said marriage counseling could repair what happened.
Rebecca read the request aloud.
I answered:
“No contact.”
The attorney asked whether I wanted to hear his explanation before deciding.
“I have thirty hours of explanation recorded.”
Ethan’s version changed again during police questioning.
He claimed Rachel had threatened to expose Diane’s financial problems.
He claimed he buried me to prevent me from driving while emotionally unstable.
He claimed the restraints were necessary because I scratched him.
His arms had no scratches.
The dirt under his nails contained my blood.
He claimed he believed Dr. Pike was monitoring my health.
The fetal monitor arrived only after deputies did.
Ethan had not checked my pulse once.
He had checked the hidden phone.
Diane remained more controlled.
She admitted pouring water.
She described it as hydration.
She admitted bringing insects.
She called them ordinary garden exposure.
She admitted ordering Mara to record.
She said documentation protected the family from false allegations.
When shown Vane’s messages, she asked for counsel.
Mara continued cooperating without any promise of immunity.
She gave investigators the password to a second account.
Diane had instructed her to upload selected videos there.
The edited clips showed me refusing food, turning my face from Ethan, and speaking through the straw.
Captions had been prepared for a court presentation.
Rachel rejects care.

Day Three: medical extraction.
They intended to leave me buried for three days.
The private ambulance would arrive at sunset on the third day.
I had been rescued near the end of Day Two.
The calendar listed a fourth step.
Infant contingency.
The attached file remained encrypted.
Rebecca requested court authority to open it.
The password clue read:
Grandmother’s promise.
I knew the phrase.
Diane repeated it whenever she touched my stomach.
