Chapter 7 - THE LAST GLASSWING TRIAL

Meadowbrook Pediatric Therapy Center had been closed for eleven months.
Graham told families the building required renovation.
In reality, he converted the basement into a private laboratory.
Federal agents found three children inside separate treatment rooms.
Caleb Morris.
Fourteen year old Emma Lane.
Seven year old Noah Pierce.
All had fragile bone disorders.
All had diagnoses erased from public records.
All had been described in court as victims of parental abuse.
Graham stood inside the central laboratory with Dr. Adrian Shaw.
A camera recorded every bed.
The room had been prepared to produce final Glasswing trial footage.
If the children received the experimental treatment, Graham planned to film their temporary changes in muscle tension and claim their bones had strengthened.
The drug did not repair bone.
It reduced pain signals and increased muscle stiffness.
Children might move more confidently for several hours while remaining vulnerable to fracture.
Dr. Bell had documented that danger years earlier.
Graham needed only a short video for investors.
The later injuries could be blamed on careless parents.
Federal agents entered through the former therapy gym.
Shaw saw them first.
He attempted to destroy the medication files.
Graham locked the treatment wing and activated the building’s fire system.
Steel shutters covered the interior windows.
Smoke machines filled the hallways even though no fire existed.
He wanted emergency responders confused while he escaped through the basement.
Detective Brooks directed the tactical team.
I remained inside the command vehicle with Angela and the other parents.
Every part of me wanted to enter.
Every part of Angela wanted the same.
Brooks refused.
“Our children need us alive when the doors open.”
The sentence held us in place.
Inside, Caleb recognized an old physical therapy code painted near the wall.
He had once attended Meadowbrook before Graham removed his diagnosis.
The code marked an emergency door release for wheelchair access.
He told Emma.
Emma reached the control with her foot and pressed it.
One shutter opened halfway.
Federal agents entered.
Dr. Shaw attempted to inject Noah with a sedative.
A nurse working under him stepped between them.
She had followed orders for months.
That night, she chose differently.
She removed the syringe and placed it on the floor.
Shaw threatened to destroy her license.
She answered:
“You already taught me what a license is worth when it protects this.”
Agents restrained him.
Graham escaped through the archive tunnel carrying Daniel’s original Glasswing ledger.
He reached the old imaging room.
Detective Brooks followed with two officers.
The room contained Lily’s first X rays.
Her name remained engraved on the physical films even after the digital file disappeared.
Graham held a lighter beneath the ledger.
“Put it down,” Brooks ordered.
“You think these parents want truth?” he asked. “They want someone else responsible for every fracture.”
“They want accurate diagnoses.”
“They want certainty medicine cannot give.”
“So you manufactured it.”
“I created a treatment investors would fund.”
“You created injured children.”
Graham looked toward the X rays.
“My brother destroyed everything because he could not accept compromise.”
“You killed Daniel.”
“I tried to stop him from delivering stolen company files.”
“By changing his steering system?”
Graham’s face became still.
Brooks’s body camera recorded every word.
“He chose to drive in the rain.”
“You removed the control module afterward.”
“Adrian handled the vehicle.”
“Did you order him?”
Graham smiled faintly.
“You will need more than a conversation.”
A voice sounded from the open doorway.
“You already gave them enough.”
Dr. Bell stood between two federal officers.
He had insisted on coming only after the building was secured.
Graham stared at him as though seeing a ghost.
“Nathan.”
“You kept me alive because you needed someone to blame when Glasswing failed.”
“I kept you alive because I believed you might remember why we began.”
“We began to help children.”
“We began to create something valuable.”
Bell shook his head.
“That is where you changed.”
Graham dropped the lighter.
Then he reached inside his coat.
Officers drew their weapons.
He removed a small remote control.
The original trial archive began uploading from servers hidden beneath the imaging system.
Graham had not planned only to burn the ledger.
He intended to transmit altered files to Novaxis and complete the sale automatically.
Dr. Bell moved toward the console.
“Stop the upload.”
Graham pressed the final button.
The screen displayed:
TRANSFER COMPLETE.
Six hundred million dollars moved into a Vale Meridian account.
At the same moment, alarms sounded across the federal command system.
The receiving account belonged to a trust carrying Lily Carter’s name.

Graham had placed the illegal sale money under my daughter’s identity.
