Six years after the assault, Ethan Rowe contacted us because the legal retention period on forensic image was ending.
“Do you want personal copy retained?”
Savannah and I looked at each other.
The old iPad data.

Criminal case closed.
Civil property case closed.
No appeals.
No pending claims.

Savannah agreed.
Then Ethan said:
“There’s one recovered draft I don’t think you ever reviewed.”
My stomach tightened automatically.
Savannah laughed.
“You did the face.”
“What face?”
“The every-file-is-a-bomb face.”

“It’s not a new crime.”
