Harbor Crest produced the meeting file under subpoena.
Page one existed.
Page three existed.
Page two did not.
The pagination was obvious.
Paul’s lawyers said clerical error.
Maybe.
Metadata showed a page had been deleted from the document management system the morning after my fall.

LENA PRICE.
She deleted page two.
Why?
Lena’s attorney claimed she was cleaning duplicate notes.
Then our anonymous sender delivered a photograph.
Page two.
Not original.
A phone photograph of a printed sheet.
Text:
Daniel expressed concern Mara will never sign voluntarily.
Lena stated personal pressure may be necessary.
Paul responded: No coercion. If she refuses, cancel structure.
Daniel responded: Cancellation is not an option.
Paul ended meeting.
That helped Paul.
Not Lena.
Not Daniel.
Why delete something that shifted blame away from her boss?
Because the next paragraph was handwritten.
After Paul leaves, discuss Blackstone.
Initials:
LP.
DE.
Lena and Daniel stayed after Paul.
No minutes.
That may be when the attack formed.
Security records showed they remained in the conference room twenty seven minutes after Paul left.
Then Lena texted me the hiking invitation.
Sequence.
Daniel later searched:
Blackstone Ravine trail crowd levels.
Emergency response times Blackstone County.
Life insurance accidental death investigation.
Those searches damaged him far more than theatrical courtroom shouting ever could.
Lena searched:
Spinal injury capacity to sign legal documents.
Not how to cause injury.
What happens after injury.
Again, their plan seemed to require me alive enough to sign after something happened.
Maybe the ravine push was supposed to injure, not kill.
Then Daniel’s recorded line after the fall contradicted that.
He was willing to escalate to death.
Lena’s private call:
“No funeral until she signs.”
Same contradiction.
They wanted both.
Signature first.
Death second.
The B17 release became the center.
If I signed:
Harbor Crest’s old liability reduced.
Lena’s pending equity sale protected.
If I then died:
Daniel’s six million policy potentially paid.
Mara removed as investigator.
Daniel received money.
Lena received corporate payout.
Everyone wins except the woman in the wheelchair.
Then Nora found the financial split between Daniel and Lena.
Daniel had promised Lena ten percent of the policy payout.
Six hundred thousand.
Why if she already had Harbor Crest equity?
Because she was taking risk.
Email:
Daniel:
You get 10 after claim clears.
Lena:
Plus B17 closes.
Daniel:
That is your side.
Lena:
Correct.
Clear.
Two parallel payoffs.
Then another message.
Lena:
Mara will never sign if she sees Merrick’s name.
Daniel:
Then remove it.
Lena:
Already done.
They modified the B17 release to hide Harbor Crest’s role behind a settlement administrator.
Fraud by omission perhaps.
Deceptive certainly.
Then:
Daniel:
When do we do Blackstone?
Lena:
Only after she refuses one final time.
Premeditation.
My stomach tightened even though I had already survived it.
Knowing somebody planned an attack is different from hearing them schedule it.
Police already had the message by then.
Their arrests came separately.
Daniel first.
Lena later.
No dramatic simultaneous raid.
No final conviction.
Charges were allegations until proven.
Their attorneys attacked the recordings.
Context.
Authentication.
Recording law.
Chain of custody.
Mental state.
Everything.
That was why Judge Mercer’s evidentiary hearing mattered.
The silver drive contained the forensic foundation necessary to admit key files.
Then the anonymous sender revealed himself.
A Harbor Crest compliance analyst named Evan Cross.
He had photographed page two before Lena deleted it.
Why wait?
“I was afraid.”
Of Paul?
“Of all of them.”
Evan had reviewed B17 history.
He knew my father’s case.
When my policy appeared, he flagged it.
Lena overrode his concern.
Paul told her to get my signature or cancel.
Then Blackstone happened.
Evan realized the policy might be connected.
He preserved records privately.
Legally risky for his employment.
Potentially essential.
He also had one file we had never seen.
A voicemail Lena left on his work phone by mistake.
She thought she was calling Daniel.
Lena:
“He still thinks we split the six million.”
Pause.
“That is not happening.”
My pulse changed.
Evan looked at me.
“There is more.”
Lena continued:
“Once Mara signs B17, Daniel becomes the next loose end.”

The final file Daniel did not know existed.
