Age six.
I had a school blood typing worksheet.

I got engaged.
Ledger:
Richard believes trust trigger may activate.
Do not tell Emma until we determine whether marriage can be delayed.
They had known from engagement.
Then:
Chloe may be useful.

My sister became strategy on paper.
Then:
Ethan’s liquidity changes options.
Catherine’s handwriting.
My mother.
Not Dad directing.

Then detectives found audio recordings.
Catherine liked recording family meetings.

Richard:
If Emma marries in September, Hudson takes control immediately.
Catherine:

Richard:
What do you suggest?
Catherine:
Chloe.
Richard laughed.
Catherine:
Ethan is practical. He built a company. Men like him do not stay with damaged goods.

That’s not an answer.
Catherine:
Neither was twenty five years of raising another woman’s child so she could take the company from us.
My stomach twisted.

Then Richard:

So who pushed violence?
Mom.

Then prosecutor upgraded Catherine’s exposure.
Conspiracy.
Solicitation or complicity in aggravated assault.

Richard’s one hit could have killed.
Catherine accepted death as outcome.
Then Chloe called me later.
“I didn’t know she said that.”
I believed her.
