Chap 1

Crystal chandeliers cast a golden glow across the grand ballroom of the Harrington Estate.

Champagne glasses clinked.

An orchestra played softly in the background.

Television reporters interviewed CEOs, politicians, and celebrities attending what was supposed to be the most prestigious charity gala of the year.

No one realized the night's biggest story wasn't happening downstairs.

It was unfolding one floor above them.

Inside the mansion's master bedroom.

Victoria Harrington stood beside the floor-to-ceiling windows, her elegant white gown flowing gently around her growing baby bump.

At seven months pregnant, she looked graceful despite the exhaustion hidden behind her calm eyes.

Around her neck rested the Harrington Diamond.

A breathtaking necklace worth nearly twenty million dollars.

Every guest downstairs believed it was simply a family heirloom.

Only Victoria knew its real purpose.

Hidden beneath the center diamond was a miniature encrypted camera.

A camera broadcasting every second of the room.

Live.

She quietly placed one hand over the necklace.

The tiny blue indicator light flashed once.

The livestream had already begun.

Downstairs...

Every giant LED screen in the ballroom automatically switched from the charity presentation to a live feed from the bedroom upstairs.

At first, guests assumed it was part of the evening's entertainment.

No one looked away.

Back upstairs...

The bedroom door slammed open.

Ethan Harrington strode inside wearing a perfectly tailored gray suit.

His polished smile had disappeared.

Behind him walked his mother, Eleanor Harrington, dressed in a glittering navy evening gown with pearls wrapped elegantly around her neck.

She carried herself with the confidence of someone who believed she already owned everything.

Ethan tossed a thick stack of legal documents onto the marble floor.

The papers scattered at Victoria's feet.

His voice was cold.

"The game is over, Victoria."

He pointed toward the documents.

"You're signing the company over tonight."

Victoria didn't move.

She simply looked down at the papers.

The Harrington Group.

The billion-dollar company her late father had spent forty years building.

A company Ethan had promised to help protect after their marriage.

Instead...

He wanted to steal it.

Eleanor folded her arms with a satisfied smile.

"Don't look so surprised, Victoria."

"You should've known this day was coming."

Victoria slowly raised her eyes.

"I trusted both of you."

Eleanor laughed softly.

"Trust is for children."

"Power belongs to those willing to take it."

Downstairs...

The ballroom had become strangely quiet.

Guests exchanged uneasy glances.

One businessman frowned.

"Is this..."

"...live?"

A television producer looked at the control booth.

"We didn't schedule this."

Several reporters immediately lifted their cameras toward the giant screens.

The room fell completely silent.

Upstairs...

Ethan stepped closer.

His tone became threatening.

"You have two choices."

He picked up a fountain pen and tossed it onto the papers.

"Sign."

"Or lose everything."

Victoria glanced toward her stomach.

Her unborn daughter kicked gently beneath her hand.

She smiled.

Not because she wasn't afraid.

Because she had already prepared for this moment months ago.

"You really think this ends tonight?"

Ethan smirked.

"It already has."

"You have no board members left."

"No allies."

"No control."

"You'll walk away with nothing."

Victoria looked directly into his eyes.

"No..."

"You've misunderstood."

A faint smile appeared on her lips.

"I'm not the one who's about to lose everything."

For the first time...

Ethan hesitated.

"What?"

Victoria gently touched the center diamond resting against her chest.

Eleanor noticed the movement.

"What are you doing?"

Victoria ignored the question.

Instead...

She calmly asked,

"Have either of you looked downstairs recently?"

Both of them frowned.

Ethan pulled his phone from his pocket.

His expression remained confident.

Until the screen loaded.

His smile vanished.

A notification filled the display.

His eyes widened.

Another notification appeared.

Media outlets have joined the broadcast.

His breathing quickened.

"No..."

He refreshed the page.

The viewer count continued climbing.

Five thousand.

Ten thousand.

Twenty thousand.

He looked toward Victoria in disbelief.

"What did you do?"

Victoria slowly removed the necklace from around her neck.

The hidden camera lens gleamed beneath the chandelier.

Her voice remained perfectly calm.

"You were so busy planning how to steal my future..."

"You never noticed I was recording your every move."

Downstairs...

Gasps erupted throughout the ballroom.

Several reporters immediately began broadcasting live.

Guests stared in horror as Ethan and Eleanor's conspiracy unfolded on the massive screens.

Phones came out across the room.

Within seconds...

The footage spread across social media.

Millions would soon see it.

Ethan's hands began shaking.

He whispered,

"No..."

"This can't be happening..."

Victoria tilted her head slightly.

May you like

"Oh..."

"It's happening."
