Coleman did not board the flight.
He contacted his own attorney first.
Good.
Then surrendered the red ledger voluntarily after receiving advice.
It was not a secret criminal diary.
Paper accounting.
Supplier invoices.

Meetings.

I stared.
That contradicted my growing assumption.

She had questioned approval twelve years ago.

She may have objected.
That mattered.
Then why hide records now?
Because hiding current conflict could still be her choice.
People can be right once and wrong later.
Then another entry dated one week after my injury.

Not specified.
Then:
E says no.
Which E?
Evan or Estelle.
Ambiguous.

Estelle’s handwriting.
Robert,
If Grace filed a hazard report, you do not get to erase it because Walter is embarrassed.
My chest tightened.
She had defended my report before becoming my stepmother.
I sat down.
Coleman looked at me.
“Mom tried to help you?”
“Maybe.”
We needed verify.
Email archive in Barn Four confirmed.
Estelle to Robert Vale:
Do not remove operator hazard submissions. If Meridian parts are implicated, we deal with it.
Robert replied:
Stay in your lane.
She forwarded to Evan.
Evan:

My anger toward her became more complicated.

After Grace was injured, he asked me to backdate a supplier conformity memo.
I refused.
That directly implicated Leonard.
Then:
I do not trust him around Kahn Meridian.
Why had Estelle later allowed Leonard to become CFO?
Maybe she never read the letter.
Because it remained sealed.
Coleman asked:
“Why would Dad hide something that important in a ledger Mom told me never to open?”
Maybe Evan expected she would.

No evidence of foul play.

That was believable.
Also obstruction like behavior if federal review already active.
Then:
“Did you know Evan’s letter was inside?”
“No.”
Her face when shown looked genuine.
Could be performance.
Then she read it.
Sat down.
Whispered:
“Leonard.”
She looked not surprised.
Betrayed.
There was a difference.
Then Estelle handed investigators her own old file.
She had kept copies of emails showing Leonard pressured Evan.
Why never report?
“Because Walter already knew enough to investigate and chose not to.”
Dad looked ashamed when told.
Then the board’s outside forensic team found current payments from Helix Meridian Trading.
One beneficiary:
Price Global Advisory.
Leonard again.
Twelve years apart.
