I had never met Lauren before the engagement.

“Yes.”

“Not until the recording played afterward.”
Lauren had planned to edit the video on her laptop.
She never received the chance because Daniel arrived.
Her phone continued recording inside his jacket pocket during the confrontation.

“He was not supposed to return.”

“Did Vanessa name him?”
“No.”
“Did Gabriel ever mention another person?”
“He called someone the caretaker.”
The estate gardener, Samuel Price, had worked for me for eleven years.
He was sixty eight and left the property before the luncheon according to payroll records.
His vehicle exited at nine forty.
Cameras showed it leaving.
