Linda denied knowing the safe existed.
The access record contradicted her.
Investigators found dust from Grandpa’s study on the heel of the formal shoes she wore during the attack.
Melanie confirmed that Linda entered the room before Wyatt and I arrived.
She emerged carrying a flash drive and told Harold:
“We cannot let the announcement become official.”
The deleted video fragment might still exist on that drive.
Linda had hidden it before police searched the mansion.
Melanie believed it was inside her mother’s private dressing room.
Investigators had already searched the room.
No drive was found.
The grandchildren’s old playroom sat beside it.
Linda had converted the room into storage after we grew older.
A dollhouse from my childhood remained on a shelf.
One wall opened through a tiny brass latch.
Inside was the flash drive.
My mother had hidden evidence inside the toy she once told me was too childish to keep.

Grandpa continued speaking.
“Linda knows the worker shares exist. She was hired to restore the records before she married Harold. Instead, she helped him erase them.”
My mother had not entered the family as an innocent spouse influenced by Dad.

She managed employee benefits.

I thought I was doing simple clerical work.

Linda’s flash drive contained only the video.

The woman resembled her closely but appeared younger.
Melanie identified her.

Laura and Linda had shared employee data for decades.

Harold requested a meeting with me through attorneys.
I refused private contact.
