Chapter 4

The steady roar of helicopter blades echoed across the rooftop.
Andrew had almost reached the private helipad.
Then—
"Andrew!"
Vanessa's voice cracked through the night.
She ran after him barefoot, her emerald gown dragging across the polished stone floor.
Tears streamed down her face.
"Please..."
"Don't leave."
The guests followed at a distance, unwilling to miss what felt like the end of a once-in-a-lifetime story.
Andrew stopped walking.
But he didn't turn around.
Vanessa finally caught up, grabbing the sleeve of his gray suit.
"I was wrong."
"I was blinded."
"I thought success was measured by money."
"I know who you are now."
Andrew slowly removed her hand from his arm.
"You still don't."
She stared at him.
"What do you mean?"
He finally turned to face her.
"The richest thing about me..."
"...was never my bank account."
"It was my loyalty."
"My honesty."
"My willingness to love someone before asking them what they owned."
"You laughed at all of those."
Vanessa fell to her knees.
The proud woman who had mocked him only minutes earlier was now begging in front of everyone.
"I'll change."
"I promise."
"I don't care about the money anymore."
Andrew looked at her quietly.
"If I had walked into this restaurant wearing old shoes..."
"If I had arrived on a motorcycle..."
"If that pilot had never shown up..."
"Would you still be here?"
Vanessa opened her mouth.
Nothing came out.
Because they both knew the answer.
At that moment...
Andrew's Chief Legal Officer stepped out of the elevator carrying another black portfolio.
"Mr. Collins."
"The Board requests your signature."
Andrew accepted the folder.
Inside were the final restructuring documents for Morgan Luxury Group.
He signed the first page without hesitation.
Then the second.
Then the third.
Vanessa watched in horror.
"My father..."
"What's going to happen to him?"
Andrew closed the folder.
"He'll remain a shareholder."
"But no longer the Chairman."
"He built the company."
"I respect that."
"But leadership must be earned."
"It can never be inherited through arrogance."
Just then, Vanessa's father slowly approached.
His shoulders seemed twenty years older.
He looked at his daughter with deep disappointment.
"Vanessa..."
She looked up hopefully.
"Dad..."
"Please tell him."
"Tell him I didn't mean it."
Her father sighed.
"When you were little..."
"I told you to judge people by their character."
"You chose to judge them by their wallet."
He looked toward Andrew.
"I spent my life building a company."
"But I failed to build humility in my own daughter."
Vanessa burst into tears.
"I'm sorry..."
Her father gently shook his head.
"The person you need forgiveness from..."
"...is no longer willing to give you his heart."
The helicopter's engines grew louder.
The pilot approached respectfully.
"Sir."
"We're ready for departure."

Andrew nodded.
Before boarding, he reached into his pocket.
He removed the velvet ring box one final time.
Vanessa's eyes filled with hope.
But instead of opening it...
Andrew walked to the edge of the rooftop garden.
There stood a small marble fountain surrounded by white roses.
He quietly placed the unopened ring box on its stone edge.
Then stepped back.
A symbol.
Not of revenge.
But of a future that would never happen.
He looked at Vanessa one last time.
"I wasn't testing whether you loved a billionaire."
"I was hoping you'd love an ordinary man."
"You failed the only test that mattered."
Andrew stepped into the helicopter.
The cabin door closed.
As the aircraft slowly lifted into the night sky, Vanessa remained kneeling on the rooftop.
Watching the man she had ridiculed disappear above the city lights.
She realized something far more painful than losing unimaginable wealth.
She had lost the one person who had loved her before revealing his power.
Below, her phone vibrated with a breaking news alert.
"Collins Global Holdings officially completes the acquisition of Morgan Luxury Group. Andrew Collins appointed Executive Chairman effective immediately."
Vanessa stared blankly at the screen.
The empire she had always believed made her superior...
Now belonged to the man she had called "a nobody."
High above the glittering skyline, Andrew looked down through the helicopter window one final time.
His voice was calm.
Almost emotionless.
"You judged me by what I chose to show you."
"You laughed at the man..."
May you like
"...and lost the billionaire."
The helicopter disappeared into the darkness, leaving the rooftop—and Vanessa's old life—far behind.
